Burberry – Art of the Trench

November 9, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Burberry has launched a new site aimed at promoting the wearing of the trench coat.

What stands out is the way Burberry has understood the new technologies available on the internet today and implemented them into a real market leading site.

Burberry is making the most of the crowdsourcing revolution that is up on us by asking trench wearers and photographers to post their photos of trench wearers in action. Hoping to show that the trench is again a cool fashion garment. Add to this facebook connect, a laid back sound track and an in depth story of the trench, I think I may just get me a trench this weekend!

Thought crowdsourcing was just for geeky software companies?

Think again!

Running a Facebook Fan Page? Inspiration Alert

By James Glick on November 9, 2009

CustomFacebookPage.com is a site dedicated to promoting the most CustomFacebookPage.com

inspirational and successful Facebook Fan Pages from some of the largest and most influential brands that reside on the site.

Facebook Fan Pages have become a key arm in many a social media strategy, with the ability to reach out and communicate to the consumers that are attached to your companies values, products and wider market. With Facebook doubling it’s active user base from 150 million in January 2009 to 300 million in September, it’s prominence within both advertising and social media campaigns is rising continually.

The site showcases the pages that have caught the eye of the public and are innovating the way we use Facebook’s community features, some of which I just couldn’t help but promote further…

The site organizes the pages into auto, 1m+ fans, consumer goods, media, non profit, retail and tech categories.

Just as James has done on thenextweb (please do follow the link above to the original source) I think it would be useful, and I encourage you to, go through some of the most successful Facebook pages listed, and do a short review on each to help you understand what makes an interesting and popular Facebook page. Then apply this new found insight to your own efforts.

I know I will be!
